Ron Jackson is a member of the California Southern Baptist Convention Church Planting Catalyst. His primary responsibility is to facilitate church starting in the African-American church community within Sacramento, Delta Valley, Redwood Empire and CostaMeda Baptist Associations.
Born and raised in rural Louisiana, Jackson joined the Navy after high school. When his tour of duty was completed, he remained in San Diego attending junior college and San Diego State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology.
Ron has enjoyed a diverse professional career working at a national retailer, owning his own real estate company, as an adjunct instructor at the community college level and as a computer technician.
In addition to his professional career, Jackson has faithfully served in Baptist churches for over 34 years. He taught Sunday school, worked with youth, young adults, new members and men’s ministries. He has also served as deacon, minister and pastor.
In April 2008, Ron was called to serve in full-time ministry with CSBC. He and his wife moved from San Diego to Elk Grove where they now serve.
Ron and his childhood sweetheart, Janice, have been married 35 years and have two sons and three grandchildren.
