Roger Byrd is the music & worship specialist in the Healthy Church Group of California Southern Baptist Convention. His primary job responsibilities are to serve as a Healthy Church Consultant and support the ministry of music and worship in California Southern Baptist churches. Roger is a level five certified church consultant through Thom Rainer’s Church Central consultant training.
In addition to his ministry of a church consultant, Roger is responsible for ministries related to church music development and worship improvement. He also has responsibilities to lead CSBC churches in discipleship and prayer ministry.
Roger has a bachelor’s degree in music from California Baptist University and a master of church music degree from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. He served as a minister of music, and education, and as an associate pastor for more than 22 years for three California churches. He joined the CSBC staff in March 2001.
Roger is married. He and his wife, Ginger, have one daughter, Jennifer, and one son, Ryan.
