Dennis Schmierer is the leader of the Business Services Group for California Southern Baptist Convention. His primary job responsibilities include the management of the accounting operation, cash flow and money management, budget administration, corporate insurance and legal matters, building care and management, and supervisor of Jenness Park and Information Technology Services. The administration of the employee benefits’ programs also are a part of his responsibilities.
Dennis serves as staff liaison with the Board Operations Committee of the Executive Board. He also seeks out and makes recommendations to the Committee on Convention Operations for future meeting sites for the State Convention Annual Meeting.
Dennis reports directly to the executive director and acts as an advisor to him on personnel, budget, legal and other administrative matters. He has been on staff since 1985.
Dennis has a bachelor of science degree in business administration from San Francisco University. Prior to coming to his current position he spent 12 years with Bank of America, five years with California Baptist Foundation, and one and a half years with Burroughs Corporation (now Unisys) in their computer division.
He and his wife, Carol, have two sons, and two granddaughters.
