Come be a part of the 2008 Ministers’ Wives Retreat. Always built around a creative theme, this year has a musical touch, “Instruments of the Master” from Romans 6:13. This retreat at beautiful Jenness Park in the Sierra Nevada mountains is a highlight weekend for ministers’ wives from throughout California. Women come to seek friendships with other ministers’ wives, find support through prayer partners, share ideas for ministry and be pampered by the Jenness Park staff. You will leave encouraged and ready for the joys and challenges of ministry. Whether you come with a group or not knowing anyone, be assured that you will be welcomed and encouraged in your desire to become a finely tuned “Instrument of the Master.”
Our featured speaker will be Tara Barthel, co-author of Peacemaking Women, and former director of the Institute for Christian Conciliation, a division of Peacemaker Ministries. Tara speaks frequently at women’s conferences and retreats and brings a passion for shalom-filled relationships in marriage, family and ministry. Her intense desire to communicate the peacemaking principles of God’s word to women will strike a chord within your heart.
This Friday through Sunday event includes uplifting worship, inspiring bible teaching, relevant seminars, crafts, fantastic food and fun-filled recreation. This retreat is designed for wives of vocational ministers, including wives and widows of full-time, or retired ministerial church staff (e.g., associate pastors, music, youth or education ministers), vocational chaplains, and denominational and seminary staff. Because the retreat is designed to address the unique challenges, expectations and privileges of having a husband in vocational ministry, participation in the retreat is limited to the above. Children cannot be accommodated at this retreat.
Your retreat experience begins with registration on Friday, May 16 (beginning at 1:00 pm) and ends on Sunday after a spectacular brunch.
