I worked for a debt collection company while I finished up my seminary degree. I would “cold call” companies and offer to work with them on collecting old debts. I would refer them to one of our collection people if they said yes. It was a boring job, but it put food on the table. Was my time worth it for the company? They employed five people besides myself, and my direct supervisor drove a nice sporty Cadillac. You do the math.
