The laser is a force or concept applied by the Church Starting Group of California Southern Baptist Convention to start new ethnic churches.  Specific ethnic groups are pinpointed over broad geographical areas through the Laser Thrust concept. Through this process new ethnic or language culture congregations are begun.  Laser teams are made up of experienced and knowledgeable people of the targeted ethnic group's language and culture.  The teams penetrate a community after months of consultation, preparation and research.  They establish communication with an ethnic group's leaders and initiate new Southern Baptist work.  Laser results are compiled and a comprehensive associational language missions strategy is developed to guide associations in follow-up efforts.  To learn more about a laser thrust, contact one of the following:
