CA Sent
"Sent" conference to feature Frank Page
The first-ever "California Sent" conference will be held in Fresno in March, according to a California Southern Baptist Convention leader.
FRESNO - The first-ever "California Sent" conference will be held in Fresno in March, according to a California Southern Baptist Convention leader.

Mike McCullough, missions discipleship group leader, said he believes "the Great Commission makes it clear we have all been sent into the world as His witnesses. It is the responsibility of the church to make sure every member is ready to go, both across the street to an unchurched neighbor or to an unreached people group somewhere in our world."

"That's what this conference is about - to help churches get every member ready to go," McCullough said.

The March 7-8 missions conference will be held at Woodward Park Baptist Church in Fresno, and is sponsored by the CSBC missions discipleship group.

Featured speaker will be Frank Page, president of the Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee, and the event will include a missions rally, missions fair and workshops. Disaster Relief training also will be available at an additional cost.

"There are three opportunities for someone to connect at this conference," McCul-lough noted. "First, 30 missions workshops are offered on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, each of which is designed to give people the skills they need to engage in missions.

"Second, Friday night features a free missions rally with Frank Page as keynote speaker, while Montia Setzler, pastor of Magnolia Avenue Baptist Church in Riverside, will humor us with funny happenings from the mission field.

"Lastly, following the rally will be a missions fair connecting participants to international, North American and local opportunities to be on mission," McCullough said.

"Every California Southern Baptist and their church can gain from this conference. Individuals will gain by learning new skills to employ as they go. Churches gain as they seek ways to better prepare their members through intentional missions discipleship."

Registration, which can be completed at www.csbc.com/events, is $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

For more information contact Brenda or Eva at the missions discipleship group or call 559-229-9533, ext. 253.
