Special Flood Recovery/Mud-Out Disaster Relief Training

Whether a new or existing volunteer, this three-hour training will equip you serve on a flood recovery/mud-out team.

With the massive flooding due to hurricanes this season, teams will be needed for months and many volunteers from California Southern Baptist churches will be deployed, according to Mike Bivins, CSBC Disaster Relief coordinator. With many California Southern Baptists coming together for the CSBC annual meeting, he noted "it seems like a great opportunity to train volunteers for this important ministry."

The training will cover the introduction and orientation to Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, Operation Stress First Aid (required for all volunteers) and the basic knowledge and safety of working in a flood recovery environment.

Registration for new volunteers before October 12 is $30; after October 12 the fee is $40. The registration fee includes the training, a DR hat and shirt, and background check.

Registration for current volunteers (includes updated background check) before October 12 is $15; after October 12 the fee is $25.

Registration and photos for identification badges begins at 12:30 p.m. The training event begins at 1 p.m.
