Tutoring Children & Youth Training - POSTPONED

POSTPONED. Stay tuned for a new date.

Tutoring Children and Youth

Many children and youth struggle with school work. This can lead to:

  • low test scores
  • dropping out of school
  • family conflict
  • fear of failure
  • low self-esteem
  • inability to understand what they read in the Bible

Give your volunteers effective tools for tutoring ministries. The Tutoring Children and Youth Basic Workshop equips local church volunteers to intentionally share the Gospel with children and youth who struggle with schoolwork.

It addresses:

  • Tutoring Children and Youth Ministry as a missions outreach of the church
  • Organizing a tutoring ministry
  • Understanding the characteristics of children and youth
  • Definition of reading
  • Choosing reading material
  • Using the Bible to teach children to read
  • Creating lesson plans from any reading material
  • Introduction to English as a Second Language students
  • Helping students who learn differently
  • Sharing Jesus with children and youth

Tutoring Children and Youth Basic Workshops are led by trainers who have been certified through the National Literacy Missions Partnership (NLMP) using North American Mission Board/Send Relief materials. Contact the Eva De La Rosa edelarosa@csbc.com for more information. Workshop leaders are also involved in tutoring ministries.

This Convention serves our culturally diverse congregations as we fulfill the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.
