IRA to Charity Rollover

IRA to Charity Rollover

In 2006 Congress passed a law allowing a donation from an IRA directly to charity (up to $100,000) without having to pay income taxes on the distribution. This law required approval each year by Congress.

On December 18, 2015 the law was made permanent and is retroactive to January 1, 2015. Each person over the age of 70.5 can now make a donation out of a traditional IRA directly to charity without paying income tax on the funds.

This Convention serves our culturally diverse congregations as we fulfill the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.
