Memorial service scheduled for CSBC's Tom Belew

A memorial service for Tom Belew, leader of the California Southern Baptist Convention’s Small Church Initiatives Team, has been scheduled. Belew died Sunday, December 10 of an apparent heart attack while returning to Fresno from a church visit.

Messengers to the 2017 California Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting welcomed a new executive director, re-elected the Convention president and approved a 2018 budget during their 77th session that highlighted “The Power of One.”

'Raise Your Game' camp reaches youth for Christ

Lucy Hamilton and her son Purcell entered John C. Kimball High School looking for the photographer who was taking senior pictures. They walked through the wrong door and into the gym, where a basketball camp organized by Kevin James, pastor of New Creation Bible Fellowship in Tracy, Calif., was taking place. Purcell wanted to stick around and participate.
