Welcome to The Cutting Edge, a new series of online postings to assist you in your missions journey. It is designed with you in mind. We want to give you ideas about how to create a missions climate in your church and provide training modules to lead you to a deeper understanding of what it means to be an effective leader. We intend to keep you updated about new mission resources that will help you be on the cutting edge! From this page you will be able to move to multiple sections that will enhance your knowledge of how Southern Baptists do mission work in California, across the nation and around the world. Each month the postings will be updated and will include the following:
Participate in a Cross-cultural Sensitivity training event to prepare to minister God’s love and Word to His people in your neighborhood, city, and beyond. This event is designed to help prepare you to experience various cultural elements of ministering to people from groups different than your own.
FasTrak is a leadership certificate emphasis for any woman who wants to be a more effective leader by developing communication, delegation, group building and other skills.
This may be a simulation, but poverty is real. At the heart of every person is the desire to thrive. This event will open your mind and heart to truly understand the dynamics of working with those experiencing poverty. How can we engage our churches in ministry to serve those in need and be the hands and feet of Jesus according to Matthew 25:34-45?
Intentional Community Evangelism (I.C.E.)is an outreach emphasis that encourages individuals and churches to find ways to minister effectively in their communities.
You can make the best plans for an exciting women’s event and all the effort will be wasted if your publicity is poorly done. Failure to use every means you can to tell women about the missions activity or event is counterproductive!
