The Toolbox: Got Missions?
Use these ideas to increase mission awareness in your church.
- Order FREE International Mission Board/North American Mission Board missions mobilization flyers and add to bulletins monthly.
- Order FREE copies of To the Ends of the Earth in bulk to distribute to church members monthly.
- Obtain Missionary Moments from www.cpmissions.org click on missionary moments and print current material. You can also click resources and purchase missionary moments prayer guide for $1.50 or prayer guide plus video vignettes for $5.00. Use this information in worship services.
- Observe the three weeks of prayer and offerings for California in September, North America in March and international missions in December each year. Offering envelopes and prayer guides are FREE by clicking here (available only during offering months).
- Show mission videos from http://resources.imb.org/ in worship services, bible studies or prayer services. Many of the videos are downloadable FREE or you may purchase them for a small fee.
- Encourage church members to visit the International Mission Board (www.imb.org) and the North American Mission Board (www.namb.net) website for prayer requests.
- Provide opportunities to do missions. Refer to the booklet 41 Easy Ways You Can Be Involved in California Missions from California Southern Baptist Convention 559.229.9533 x. 255.
- Create a missions display. Display FREE information from the International Mission Board/North American Mission Board and materials from Women’s Missionary Union (www.wmu.com). Change items seasonally.
- Write a monthly column on missions for your church newsletter. Highlight missionaries, mission news in your association and ways for church members to be involved.
- Encourage members to pray for the missionaries on their birthdays listed in Missions Mosaic (available through www.wmu.com) or in Open Windows (available through www.lifeway.com).
