​Californians' lives are changed through ministry in The Big Apple

As part of myMISSION’s second national missions experience, 32 young women from 10 states gathered on Memorial Day weekend to share their faith alongside Baptist workers in the inner city of New York, and build community with one another. Six volunteers from St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church in La Puente joined others from Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Tennessee.

Camps feature water play, missionaries

Though California is in the midst of a drought, Jenness Park Christian Camp is praising the Lord for the water available to campers and staff for the summer months. Mother Lode, Delta Valley and Central Valley Baptist Associations worked collaboratively to provide camps for children from first grade through college. Twenty-six of the 423 who attended made first-time professions of faith in Christ.

Reaching out to victims of domestic abuse

Pastor’s wife Carol Brandt felt helpless for 20 years as she watched a woman caught in the snare of domestic violence. When the woman finally broke free, and Brandt saw her change, she saw that with intervention and God’s help, domestic violence victims could be rescued.
